Poke You With My Sticks

Long time, No blog

Yes, I am still alive. It's been so long since I last blogged, I don't even know where to start. I have a ton of stuff I want to share. It would take all night to write it out, and really, how much of it would really matter?

Small knitting update: The central park cardigan is in the same exact spot since last time I wrote. I hate seaming, and it sits waiting for me. I'll get to it at some point. I also finished my Norwegien hat three weeks ago. Of course, it still needs to be blocked, weave in ends, and sew in the lining. Yuck! I did finished the Argosy scarf, blocked and ready to wear. No pictures yet. I've started, and re-started the Anemoi mittens three times now. I've tried two didn't tubular cast-ons and two different needle sizes, and the cuff still cuts off circulation on my wrist. I really want these mittens but I don't know if I have the patience to do the corrugated ribbing, agian.... We'll see. And that, my dear readers, is my knitting update.

Christmas was great, January flew by, Emily turned six a few days ago. My baby is six! I'm really sad about it, and at the same time, it's nice being able to do more as a family with "older kids".

This week is going to be chaotic for us. Jason will be packing for a two week work trip to Fremont California, for training. (leaving Saturday) Lucky bastard, gets to go to Austria in May for training too. He has some family in San Jose, so hopefully he'll have time to visit. And YES, I did give him a list of the yarn stores in the area. I told him, "When you go in the store, just tell them your wife is a sock knitting addict. Fingering weight. They'll do the rest." We'll see if he gets it right though.

And while getting ready for the trip...I'll be recovering. I've tried a couple new medicines over the last few weeks, and they're just not working. So this Thursday, I'm having a laparoscopy done. It's minor, and outpatient...But nevertheless, stressful as hell. Especially since he leaves less than 48 hours after the actual surgery. I've been re-assured I'll be fine by then, and I am sure I will be. But still....

So that's the last month in a nutshell. I'll leave you with two pictures from Emily's birthday party, at Skateland. She insisted on a skating party, and it was a big hit! Jason would kill me if he found out I posted this picture, but I just think it's so sweet. Us, holding hands, skating like a bunch of teen-agers. Awwww.... (That's me waving in the white shirt, in the second picture)
